Your host is a paterfamilias of the well-contented variety, married almost twenty years, with two children. He lives in Portland, Oregon in an old bungalow affectionately christened “Wee Nooke” after a cottage from a P.G. Wodehouse novel.
The masthead image is a detail from John James Audubon’s painting of the hermit thrush. The photo of your host was taken by his daughter while hiking at the eastern end of the Columbia River Gorge.
